LUIGI'S HOAGIE . . . . The Original
A MEAL IN ITSELF!
Luigi's Signature Sandwich . . . The culmination of the hoagie-making art, can be created by you! Luigi combines distinctively flavored chopped ham, cheese, onions and Luigi's "Original" Recipe, mild hot sauce Italiano, on an 8-inch Itialian bread roll. Delicious heated or cold for lunch, dinner or a snack.

CREATE YOUR OWN FAVORITE
HOAGIE OR SANDWICH

Using 4 to 6 slices of your favorite luncheon meat or meats (mix or match), lay out overlapping meat slices on a hoagie roll. Spoon one heaping tablespoon full of Luigi's Hoagie Sauce or DiBello's Peppers, chopped, across the meat slices. If desired, sprinkle chopped onions on Sauce or Peppers. Quarter a slice of your favorite cheese and arrange the quarter slices on top of the Sauce or Peppers. Serve cold or heated.
     To heat, place open faced in a conventional oven on the top rack. Bake at 450 degrees F until cheese is melted. Or, place open faced on a microsafe plate in microwave for 45 seconds on medium high (time may vary). Serve open faced, or fold ingredients toward center, close hoagie roll and enjoy!

PERFECT FOR PARTIES
Sauce & Cheese Dip

  • 1/2 pint Luigi's "Original" Hoagie Sauce
  • A measure (equal to the Sauce) of Velveeta or Cheez Whiz
  • 1 teaspoon (more or less) milk

    Melt cheese in microwave, stir in small amount of milk to reach desired consistency. Add Sauce, stir and serve. Great for nachos, chips, or on your favorite snacks.

    Pepper & Cheese Dip

  • 1/2 pint DiBello's Hot or Medium Hot Peppers, chopped.
  • A measure (equal to the Peppers) of Velveeta or Cheez Whiz
  • 1 teaspoon (more or less) milk

    Melt cheese in microwave, stir in small amount of milk to reach desired consistency. Add Peppers, stir and serve. Great for nachos, chips, or on your favorite snacks.

    DiBELLO'S CHICKEN

    4 to 5 pieces of chicken, skinned
    1 pint of DiBello's Peppers in Sauce Italiano
    1 pint of Luigi's Pizza Sauce or Luigi's Spaghetti Sauce
    1 pint of Italian-style peppers
    1/2 cup of uncooked rice or Soupetti Acini Di Pepe or your favorite little pasta
         Put rice (or those little pasta things) and Sauce in bottom of casserole. Layer: 1 cup peppers, then the chicken, and top with remaing peppers. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350o F.

    DiBELLO'S QUICK CHICK

    In a hurry? Use the same ingredients as for DiBello's Chicken. Preheat oven to 350o F, start chicken in frying pan. Put rice, Luigi's Pizza Sauce or Luigi's Spaghetti Sauce and DiBello's Peppers in bottom of casserole and microwave on HI for 7 min. Cut up and drain quick-fried chicken, remove casserole from microwave, stir in chicken, cover and place in preheated conventional oven for approximately 15 minutes. Same great taste in less than one-half the time.

    QUICK PEPPERS AND RICE (or PASTA)

  • 1 pint of Luigi's Pizza Sauce or Luigi's Spaghetti Sauce
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 pint DiBello's Medium Hot Peppers in Sauce Italiano
  • 1 4-1/2 oz. jar of sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon instant minced onions
  • 1-1/2 cups instant rice or pasta.

    Mix all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat for 3 minutes, stirring often. Cover and remove from heat. Let stand five minutes before serving. For a variation, you may add your favorite pasta instead of rice. When using pasta, add an additional 1 cup of water and cook an additional 5 minutes. Makes six generous servings.

    DiBELLO'S BEEF & PEPPER PIE

  • 1 pint of DiBello's Peppers in Sauce Italiano
  • 1 cup Luigi's Pizza Sauce or Luigi's Spaghetti Sauce
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1/2 - 1 cup shredded sharp cheese
  • Pie crust
  • Parmesan cheese

    Prepare crust for a two-crust pie. Brown onions and ground beef in a large skillet. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour beef mixture into a pie shell and cover with top crust. Bake at 350o F for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, return to oven and bake an additional 10 minutes.

    SOUTH-OF-THE-BORDER CORN PUDDING

  • 1 12oz. can of whole kernel corn, drained
  • 2 eggs, well beatern
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 cup DiBello's Medium Hot Peppers in Sauce Italiano

    Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Set in pan of warm water and bake at 400o F for 50 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean. Makes six servings.

    POTATO DiBELLO

    Pare off pounds!
    Have your potato without the butter or sour cream!

    Cut a washed potato in half and sprinkle cut surface with garlic salt. Sandwich a thin slice of onion and 1½ to 2 tablespoons of DiBello's Peppers in Sauce Italiano between two potato halves. Wrap securely in foil and bake at 400o F for one hour, or microwave unwrapped medium sized potato for 10-12 min. on HI.
